What did you learn from your reading? Summarize the big ideas here.
Based on what I read in the Blogging for Educators book, I learn that we teachers can use a PLN, which stands for Personal Learning Network which enables us to connect and share information with others. It's a tool that is most beneficial to educators when seeking to expand and even share one's knowledge with others.
There are many means one can use which they can form a PLN such as the use of Twitter, Facebook, Pintrest, and Blogs more importantly. Blogs can be formed using platforms Blogger, Edublog, Tumblr and Wordpress.
What is a blog? A Blog is a regularly updated website by a writer who shares his or her idea on a topic in a informative format. Therefore it is natural that we can use blogging as a PLN. We can set or blogs to our tastes and design by using themes and unique URLs.There are some free blogging sites we can use to organise your blogs such as the platforms mentioned in the previous paragraph. Having a blog also gives your readers to comment on your to also share their ideas and ask questions about your blog, but this is only an option you if want comments on your blog.
Why comment? Leaving comments allows for feedback, sharing of ideas and developing relationships, readers should make their comments specific and appropriate to the topic so that the writer can know how to better serve his or her readers. It is fine if you don't agree with the writer, but one should be careful with what they say, there are do's and don't in commenting. It is good that you are short and specific in your answers also if you are critical of what the writer says you should state with reason. On the other hand you should not do certain things like telling the writer his or her writing is bad, being disrespectful in your comments or even being too vague in your answers.
How did you feel about what you read? Talk about how you think you can use what you learned.
I feel quite excited about what I read to be honest, I can't wait to practice blogging and interacting with other teachers, I think I will use this blog I am about to create to share my thoughts and ideas on science and french lessons with my fellow teachers.
What questions are you left with? Think about practical considerations for implementing changes.
1. Would you encourage someone to keep blogging even if he or she gets no feedback or negative responses?
2. There so many positives that comes out of blogging, but are there any negatives outcomes for a blogger?
